Sessions are independent of one another, so you can take them in any order. Once you complete all 20 sessions, you can take your NYREI exam and the New York Department of State exam ($15). Passing the final school exam requires a minimum score of 70% and can only be taken three times. Final exams must be physically taken within the state of New York, according to the Department of State’s regulations. We offer the proctored exam in New York City as part of the purchased package and can also help find you an approved location outside of the city. Once both exams are passed, you can apply for your license.
Once both exams are passed, you can apply for your license with the Department of State ($55 for two years) provided that you have found a Sponsoring Broker. If you need help choosing a sponsoring broker, we have dozens of New York’s top real estate firms that recruit daily and we offer lifetime job placement assistance!
Applicants are required to make an online reservation in order to take the state exam. Even if you plan on taking the exam a few months from now, we recommend that you make your reservation immediately for your real estate salesperson license in NY. To register for the New York State Exam, please visit the Department of State website.
