Salespersons with 2+ years experience
The New York Real Estate has offered New York’s leading Broker Licensing course since 1987. No other school offers as many classes, learning formats or scheduling options as NYREI so you can personally customize how to earn your broker license.
You MUST be a licensed Salesperson. Licensed Salespersons with 2+ years experience and enough transaction and experience points can apply for a New York State Brokers License to open or manage their own agency or brokerage firm. Salespersons that earned their license prior to July 2008 must take the 30 hour remedial course in addition to their 45 hour Broker Course.
This course is for Salespersons that received their license after July 2008.
All Broker classes offered via Zoom.
This course is for Brokers that received their 45 Hour Broker Licensing Course prior to December 21, 2022.
This course is for Salespersons that received their license prior to July 2008.
The Broker Licensing Course is 75 hours of required seat time and offered in 20 separate numbered sessions. Students can start any day, any time, with any session number and the sessions can be taken in any order that is convenient to you, as long as you don’t repeat any numbered sessions. Once you complete all 20 sessions, you are eligible to take the school and state exams. Passing the final exam requires a minimum score of 70% and can only be taken twice. Final exams must be physically taken within the state of New York, according to the Department of State’s regulations. We offer the proctored exam in New York City as part of the purchased package and can also help find you an approved location outside of the city. Once both exams are passed, you can apply for your Brokers license ($155 for two years).
Applicants are required to make an online reservation in order to take the state exam. Even if you plan on taking the exam a few months from now, we recommend that you make your reservation immediately for your real estate broker license in NY. To register for the New York State Exam, please visit the Department of State website.
