• Real Estate Agent applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time you apply.
• You must have successfully completed a Department of State approved 75-hour qualifying course. If you have completed the 45-hour salesperson qualifying course prior to July 1, 2008, you may complete the 30-hour remedial course in order to qualify for licensure.
• You must be sponsored by a NY licensed real estate broker.
• You must pass the NY real estate salesperson examination.
• You must not have any felonies on your record (exceptions may apply).
• When you apply for your real estate license, you must have a photo on record at the NYS DMV. If you do not have a valid NYS Driver License or Non-Driver ID with photo, you must visit a DMV office to have your picture taken before applying for your real estate license.

• Register for your classes online or in person.
• Complete the NYREI course and school exam, and obtain your School Certificate.
• Sign up for an eAccess account and successfully complete the NY Department of State Test (a one hour exam given each Tuesday in lower Manhattan) to meet the licensing requirements.
• Find a real estate office "sponsoring broker" where you will work and be supervised as a salesperson.

• Our class is offered in 20 separate numbered sessions.
• You can start any day, any time, with any session number.
• Sessions are independent of one another, so you can take them in any order, as long as you don't repeat any numbered sessions.
• Once you complete all 20 sessions, you can take your NYREI and Department of State exams.
• Once both exams are passed, you can apply for your license with your sponsoring broker.

The Salesperson Course is offered every day, including nights and weekends, at four convenient locations. You can mix and match locations – it's not necessary to take them all in one place. We also offer the course online.

The Salesperson Course is 75 hours, broken up into 20 sessions. The sessions are independent of each other and can be taken in any order. Our unique scheduling system allows you to begin classes at any time.

Except for holidays, the course is given seven days a week, including one night and one weekend day each month for your convenience. You can take your sessions at any NYREI location, provided that you are not repeating a session number.

At other schools which have a fixed schedule, if you have to miss a class you will not have enough hours to complete the course and may have to take it all over again. Our flexible schedule allows you to create your own schedule so you are guaranteed to finish the course the first time.

Here are some examples of how you can finish your 20 sessions at NYREI:

1. Fast Track: Start any day during the week and finish in 10 weekdays.
2. Evenings: Start any night and finish in 20 straight nights Monday – Thursday, classes start at 6PM.
3. Mornings: Start any weekday morning and finish in 20 weekday mornings.
4. Afternoons: Start any weekday afternoon and finish in 20 weekday afternoons.
5. Weekends: Start any weekend and finish in 10 straight weekend days (5 consecutive weekends).
6. Saturday or Sunday ONLY: Start and go either day only and finish after 10 days.
7. Mix & Match: Plan your own schedule. Combine mornings, afternoons, and evenings in any sequence that is convenient for you.

You are allowed a maximum of 7.5 hours of absence.

Exams are regularly administered at the days and times listed below. However, you can schedule your NYREI exam at any time convenient to you for an additional $25 proctor fee.

School Exam:

Manhattan:

• 75-hour Course Exam: Mondays at 1:00pm
• Remedial Course Exam: Mondays at 3:00pm

Syosset: 12:00pm any day courses are being given
Flushing: 1:30pm any day courses are being given
Westchester: Schedule with teacher.

State Exam:

Tuesdays at 9:00am and 2:00pm
