- Course Objectives
- The course is designed to provide a practical understanding
of real estate finance and investments
Ø Introducing
students to methods for collecting, estimating, calculating,
and analyzing the critical quantitative real estate "measures
of performance";
Ø Having
students understand the relative importance of these "measures
of performance" and the underlying reasons for their
importance;
Ø Establishing
a framework by which real estate investments can be evaluated

- Who is the
instructor?
- Michael A. Raganelli
has over 22
years of experience in the valuation, management, and
financing of commercial real estate. Currently, he is a
Senior Vice President with the Carlton Group Inc. executing
debt and equity placement on Trophy grade properties and the
cultivation of business relationships with institutional
lenders.
Prior to
joining the Carlton Group, Michael was a Second Vice
President with New York Life Investment Management, LLC
where he executed portfolio lending in the northeast. Prior
to that, he was the Director of Valuation Services for Rosin
& Associates, Inc. Over the course of his career, Mr.
Raganelli has been directly involved with over $2 billion
worth of portfolio and CMBS transactions.
Mr.
Raganelli holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal
Institute and is certified by that organization as an
instructor. Mr. Raganelli is also the Chair of the
Valuation Studies Department at the NYREI. He is the author
of the In Layman’s Terms Column published in
the New York Post (1986-2002), and has been appointed the
Appraisal Institute’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation
(2004-2008), traveling regularly to that country for both
educational and good will assignments.
