Appraisal Continuing Education
A review of the origin, implementation, and enforcement
of NYC zoning regulations. The class covers zoning and zoning maps;
use regulations; yard regulations; F.A.R. and bulk regulations;
open space requirements; building height and building envelope;
building accessories; sprinkler requirements and egress analysis.
Recommended for real estate brokers, engineers, developers, building
department expeditors and appraisers. 22.5 hours, no exam.

Course Outline
Day 1 Introduction of New York State and
City Zoning Code Compliance
Day 2 Understanding and reading the New York City Building Codes
Day 3 How to determine and implement highest and best use for a
parcel
Day 4 Understanding the requirements and calculation allowed by the
New York City building code and Bureau of Standards and Appeal
Day 5 Researching and evaluation of feasibility of a construction
project
Day 6 How to prepare a development plan for the client or the
development team
Day 7 Interact with an Architect or Engineer to develop a
preliminary construction plan to determine the estimated cost of the
construction project for review by a financial institution or
investors
